Some tour guide friends of mine just posted this excellent article from The Brooklyn Rail by David Kim called Aboard the Big Red Bus on Facebook. I want to share it with a larger audience. The article really gets to the heart of why locals should ride the bus at least once to step back and get a sense of this great town that we take for granted sometimes. I often say on my tours that New Yorkers never look up!
The article is great for prospective visitors. It highlights the good, the bad, and the ugly quite well. It is often hard for me to make people understand that New York is NOT DisneyWorld. At the best of times, the ride is like a reality show. During extremes of weather and traffic, a ride is more like Survivor. ENJOY!
Come visit soon.
I'm looking for sue katz, tour guide for the hop on hop off bus in new york city. She named two musicians and said I could find her if I type in their names. Well I remembered her name (there are thousands) but forgot the musicians names. Sue if you get this you are the best tour guide we came across in the big apple. Thanks for being so knowledgeable and friendly

Thanks for the kind words. I know from the stats that many people look for the blog who have been on my tour. You are the first to say "Hi". Do drop in before your next visit to NYC as well. I have talked about a lot of musicians on the blog - Pete Seeger and Leonard Bernstein get a lot of play here. Thanks again for stopping by.
