10/12/2011 - Quick update. I will be volunteering at the New York Horticultural Society on Saturday from 11-2. Come and visit me. On my way there in the morning, I am going to stop in at the American Irish Historical Society.
If any of you are around at the end of my shift, there are several sites that will be open and not require reservations. In no particular order St Vincent de Paul Church, The New School University Center, Grace Church, Evergreen Architectural Arts, Dattner Architects, Church of the Transfiguration, The Church of the Ascension, CFDA Fashion Incubator, and 505 W 37th. Am happy to head farther up or downtown as well. Here's the map. Have a look around.
This year, Open House New York will be on the weekend AFTER Columbus Day. The Jewish Holiday of Yom Kippur is on Columbus Day weekend this year. I have volunteered for OHNY every year since 2003, the year it began. This will be my 9th year. I have written about Open House New York several times on this blog. Here is last year's post.
If you register to volunteer or make a donation and get on the mailing list, you will get advance notification of the weekend's events.
Hope to see you at the first volunteer's meeting.
