I went to school before it was politically incorrect to teach carols in the classroom. So, I know all the words. Occasionally I went caroling in the neighborhood with my neighbors. In NYC I have volunteered, eaten chinese food and gone to many many movies. Years ago, NYC discovered there was a market for Jewish programming on Christmas. I think it all started with Lower East Side tours run by Big Onion Walking tours. I probably went their first or second season.
This year I will probably be at the Museum of the Jewish Heritage on Dec 25th - maybe for the concert and late on the 24th I'll be doing some volunteer work for food banks with my synagogue. However, I really enjoyed caroling last year at Washington Square Park at 5 and Gramercy Park at 6. If anyone wants to join me, lets meet on the East Side of Washington square arch facing North (ESB view around 4:45). If anyone wants a 2 hour tour from anywhere that ends at the caroling, email me with your needs and I'll send you a proposal.
