Tom Lehrer explained other based number systems when he said "Base 8 is just like base 10 really if you're missing two fingers" in the New Math and That's Mathematics explained the rest of math or so I thought until....the Guide's Association field trip to...
The Museum of Mathematics. I knew there was more to math after seeing the girl ride a square wheeled tricycle. So many exhibits. So little time. And The Museum of Mathematics is open on Christmas and New Years Day and it has a great gift shop. I will definitely bring my nieces' families here. It will be time well spent.
The neighborhood has many other attractions. On our way to the magnificent Manhattan Appellate Court , we spotted this hawk in Madison Square Park. Nearby you will also find the Little Church Around the Corner, Eataly, and the Museum of Sex which I talked about in Spiritual Paths.
Great neighborhood! You can satisfy your spirit (the churches), mind (Museum of Mathematics) and body (Eataly and the Museum of Sex).
