You don't even have to know how to play chess (I don't) to enjoy the excitement, theatricality, history and geekiness of the play The Machineplaying at the Park Avenue Armory until Sept 18th. It's about THE chess match between Gary Kasparov and the IBM computer in NYC in 1997.
Have a look around the armory while you are there or come in for a public tour.
If only they would revive Tamara which was the best tour of the Armory ever invented. I saw the show 3 times and followed different characters to different rooms.
Note to my friends from my pre/early internet computer working life. You've got to see this!
