I use the Void of Course Moon charts to help me improve my timing but there is nothing as good as a real life example to show how using the void moon cycle to avoid disappointments and improve your outcomes. Here is an email string from Jan who described her experiences not using and then using void of course moon planning in a certain situation such as dying her hair:
Subject: VOC and hair dyes!
I am so curious - what happened when you dyed your hair during the voc??
Subject: Re: VOC and hair dyes!
Hi Again ! Maybe after you read this, you will understand my appeal to you about trying to make me feel less VOC phobic :-)
Here are a few examples of what happened, before I picked up on the link between the VOC trend with my hair disasters- I used a permanent dye meant to lighten hair (Maximum Lightening!) and got absolutely no result from it- other than the unwanted result of damaged hair without the benefit of a color change. (Btw- I have dirty blonde hair to begin with,so I was not someone with black hair trying to go lighter)
Used a permanent dye to darken hair- the dye would not hold. And within a week had washed out of hair. Once again- all the damage, without the benefit of actually changing the color :-( And a frosting? - when the frosting cap came off- the streaks were all uneven- not only in width, but intensity of color. Thank goodness I own a few baseball caps! LOL
Cutting your hair on a VOC always means you are not going to get the look you were hoping to achieve- or worse, an utter hair cut disaster- can you spell U-G-L-Y?
Another point - I, my sister and my mother learned the hard way to never to pick a new ( as in never tried before)box of haircolor on a VOC. That pretty much follows with any cosmetic/beauty product. It seems whenever we were buying items on a VOC- even if we used them on a NON-VOC DAY, the items always proved disappointing.
I cannot tell you how many times I told my sister to wait till the VOC was over before she purchased some outrageously priced cosmetic in the mall at the CLARINS counter( or MAC or ESTEE LAUDER-etc etc). All those items she bought? Ditched into the garbage or passed on to someone, like me, my mother or grandmother.
Now, I have made each of them their own VOC schedule and they carry it with them. Initially they did not take me seriously. They used to think I was a bit of a flake with my VOC warnings," Don't buy that today- it's not a good day!" Or "Don't go to the mall until it is after 10;00am!" Well, I was made fun of until they saw that it really worked. Then they started calling me from work or a store and asked me in embarrassed, hushed tones," Jan- ahem- I want to buy a such an such- is it a good day today?"
I know there is more to a good day than a non- VOC- but since VOC always seems to show-( for me anyway)- its validity with regard to the retail industry, I just do not buy more than the very basics at that time. If you ask me- VOC has shown me more obvious activity of its power than Mercury Retrograde. Or maybe it is best said that a VOC has more sway over my activities than a Mercury Retrograde Period. I don't really get fazed by Mercury Retrograde- I perceive it as an annoyance more than anything else. But that is just my own experience.
