More and more I am getting questions from those in the age 56-59 age bracket saying that their life is in an upheaval. That they are frustrated with their lack of progress on certain life goals and how they want change and or some type of progress. "What is going on?", they ask.
The answer is obvious to someone who knows astrology - these folks are going through their Second Saturn return. The Saturn Return occurs every 28 years or so and lasts three years. It is when transiting Saturn returns to your horoscope natal chart's birth point. I have a lot of material on the Saturn Return period in this blog. Read more about the Saturn Return in this prior post and in this study sheet.
So the return occurs in Saturn cycles of approximately 28 years. If we are lucky we have three Saturn Returns in our lifetime: the first at ages 27-30 years old, the second at ages 56-59 years old (the exact years depend on the degrees of Saturn in your personal astrology birth chart) and the third at about 85-88 years old. I have never heard about a fourth one but as we live longer .... who knows?
For those baby boomers who contact me about their returns and what it means, I immediately ask them what happened in their life around ages 27-30. Are there any similarites with what they felt them with what they feel now? Are they undergoing the same challenges or frustrations? How did they handle it the last time they went through it? If they have different challenges, have they learned anything from their past experiences, any life lessons, that they can apply to their problems now?
Saturn Return periods are times when Saturn, the great teacher, is trying to teach us a lesson. What we went through at ages 27-30 prepared us for the next phase of our lives ... provided that we learned our lessons.
