This just in from wonderful astrologer Jenni Stone on the new moon:
New Moon is dramatic without the drama
Sunday July 31, New Moon in Leo
After yesterday's New Moon we are ready to move forward with more enthusiasm and energy. Remember to write your intentions and wishes as we have Mercury going retrograde next Tuesday - this helps us to make a pact with the universe to bring our desires to fruition.
Today's Moon in Leo is good for a social event – include children and teenagers and be willing to have fun. Celebration may be a little dramatic.
Be the sensible one if you are out shopping or meeting friends for celebration.
But in general, take time out for entertainment and forget the ‘have-to’ list.
VOID after 11.20pm this evening until 1.41am tomorrow morning (Mon) Pacific –
Eastern void tomorrow morning (Mon) 2.20am – 4.41am
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit. Aristotle

SALES, BUSINESS and REAL ESTATE – with Mercury slow in the sky as it slows down to go retrograde – this is the best time to call or send off an email message to clients and customers. During the time when Mercury is going backwards, go through records of people you’ve known in the past, make contact and ask if they are now ready to sell/buy or do business with you.
WRITERS - Mercury goes into Retrograde motion (next Tuesday evening), this is the last opportunity to get writing projects started – so if you have an idea, put a few words on paper, or on your word-processor – or, if you have projects that have been in the pipeline for a long time, these can often be finished during the next few weeks. If you have a query letter email ready to send off to an editor – send it off today as this will give you maximum impact and you will probably get an answer back soon after Mercury goes direct
Let your natural August steaminess waft up and out this week. Most outer planets - Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and even Jupiter are all retrograde at some point over the next four weeks and that can cause a generational sway. Feel that sway and even a graceful dosido. Grab your partner and dance along with the cosmos. Watch those cosmic toe crunchers though.....
ARIES (MARCH 21 - APRIL 20) Hold on to your feelings of self esteem while your career takes a few twists and turns, Aries. These maneuvers are nothing new to you but the feelings of apprehension and uncertainty are still hard to control. Be calm: you are an old hand at this type of political stuff and will get your chance to fish for shark as the summer winds down. For now just avoid becoming shark bait.
TAURUS (APRIL 21 - MAY 21) Bulls are on a roll as August rolls in. But there are unexpected shocks fermenting behind the scenes. You can control your own press at this time but soon your spin cycle could spin out of control with international repercussions. Avoid wandering down any diplomatic roads until you can survey the land for potholes. And even then, hire a good driver.
GEMINI (MAY 22 - JUNE 21) Friends may become jealous of your sparkling personality and innate ability to turn up the flirt whenever and wherever you want. Be sure to show compadres your compassion as you glide by on an A-list arm. Twins grab all hearts .. and you know where that can lead. Will you bite off more than you can chew? Most definitely. But that is the point, isn’t it?
CANCER (JUNE 22 - JULY 23) Crabs will learn how to balance relationships with work responsibilities this week ... or else. But it won’t be easy or a quick fix. The challenge here is that everything is so unpredictable and ever-changing. Priorities shift and emotions get in the way. Sigh. Not much you can do until things quiet down. Is it possible to crawl in your shell until autumn? Not likely.
LEO (JULY 24 - AUGUST 23) If you find yourself sitting at your desk and dreaming of faraway places, don’t buy a travel ticket just yet. There are more pleasant things to do closer to home than you think. And there are issues to deal with on the open road. Your perceptions of the world are changing. This is a good thing. But give new ideas room to roam before you act upon them. Then roam away.
VIRGO (AUGUST 24 - SEPTEMBER 23) Virgos have almost too many fun outlets to choose from. Everything looks good and it is hard to choose and prioritize. This can lead to excess and dissipation ... if you are lucky. Will you spread yourself thin or savor the enjoyment of every fun time? They say that it is hard to dance at two parties with only one tush. Try to prove them wrong this week.
LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 24 - OCTOBER 23) The push me pull you of family and partners accelerates to a crescendo and the best advice I can give to Libras is to get out of the way. There is not much that you can do to broker a peace agreement between parties so maintain a respectable distance and tend to your own garden of earthly desires. Do you have a green thumb or is it passion red?
SCORPIO (OCTOBER 24 - NOVEMBER 22) As strategically political as you think you are, you are less so now. Minor job kerfuffles become all out wars before your eyes. Scorps who believe that that they can gracefully walk the middle line at work now find that they are required to take sides. The question then becomes, “Which side?” That is a great question! I certainly don’t know. I hope you do.
SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 23 - DECEMBER 22) Artistic pastimes are just that - pastimes and hobbies. But don’t tell that to the creatively inspired Archer who thinks that their scribblings are works of genius. It will be more effort than you think and may sit in the showroom a little too long. Enjoy your charade but don’t delude yourself into thinking that you are the next Picasso. Unless you mean Frank Piscasso....
CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 23 - JANUARY 20) Family relationships are due for a re-evaluation. That means that you need to make an effort to reach out beyond your personal comfort level. But it is a compelling idea to uncover obstacles, overcome them and reinvent yourself in the process. When all is said and done, you may just change how you view yourself and your place in the world. Or their place in yours.
AQUARIUS (JANUARY 21 - FEBRUARY 19) Even a small comment can have mammoth implications. Aquarians are mouthy anyway and love to scatter their opinions across as wide an audience as possible. Not only do your words have impact now, they can upend landscapes unexpectedly and dramatically. Is that what you are seeking? Thought not. So think only happy thoughts for now.
PISCES (FEBRUARY 20 - MARCH 20) Life is full of social opportunities - almost too many to choose from. Long lost friends come out of the woodwork and pull you into their jolly sphere of influence. But the entry fee can be steep, Pisces, so be sure that you can afford it. Posh parties and fancy clubs nicely fill up your summer as it depletes your bank account. Ah, but what a way to go go go!

Lottery ads tell us you only need a dollar and a dream. But it is also helpful to have a list of lucky numbers to help spur the good fortune ... or fortunes.
So with that in mind, here are some lucky numbers that can be used in any helpful way. I gazed into a pool of water, Nostradamus-like, and contemplated the cosmos. Then I mixed the tarot cards and allowed the spirits to guide me to the cards that represent the lucky numbers for this week. Nothing is guaranteed but who knows ....?
I choose eight numbers because 8 is the number of wealth.
Here are the lucky numbers for the week of July 29-August 4, 2011:
Cholesterol can't dissolve in the blood. It has to be transported to and from the cells by carriers called lipoproteins. Low-density lipoprotein, or LDL, is known as "bad" cholesterol. High-density lipoprotein, or HDL, is known as "good" cholesterol. These two types of lipids, along with triglycerides and Lp(a) cholesterol, make up your total cholesterol count, which can be determined through a blood test. High levels of bad cholesterol can bring on heart disease.
But scientists have mad an interesting discovery about "good cholesterol". Here is a highly scientific article on the helpful properties of "good cholesterol". Scientists have found that good cholesterol is not just good for the heart, it is also good because it can effectively fight cancer cells.
"Good cholesterol” acts as a special delivery vehicle of destruction for cancer by cleansing the body of malignant cells. They found that "synthetic HDL nanoparticles loaded with small interfering RNA selectively shrunk or destroyed ovarian cancer tumors in mice."
This is another great excuse to eat right and monitor your colesterol. Not like Homer Simpson!
Amy Winehouse, a talented artist, died from a drug overdose this week. She was 27 years old.
From an astrological perspective 27 is an auspicious age since it is the threshold of the Saturn Return. Think how many talented artists died during their first Saturn Return ages 27-30. I can immediately think of Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Keith Haring.
This is not to say that The Saturn Return causes people to die. What it means is that we can get very caught up in our own heads during our three year Saturn Return where we may feel frustrated and lost. It is a highly sensitive time. But it is also an important growth period. The time should be used to learn more about yourself - what you really want out of life and what you need to do to get there.
According to the site www.librarising.com, Amy Winehouse had the following birth information;
She has: Sun in Virgo, Moon in Sagittarius, Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Leo, Mars in Leo, Jupiter in Sagittarius, Saturn in Scorpio, Uranus in Sagittarius, Neptune in Sagittarius, Pluto in Libra
While there is a part of her that craves neatness, stability and conservatism (all Sun in Virgo attributes) women tend to live their moon sign until after their Saturn Return is over at age 30. So she behaved more like her Moon in Sagiattarius - independent, open, honest, lots of fun and anti-authoritative. Add to that her Mars (energy) and Venus (love) in dramatic Leo and you have a fiery personality who loves and craves the limelight. Through all of this she thought in a practical manner (Mercury in Virgo) and crafted a greatly successful career in a relatively short amount of time.
Amy had many planets in Sagittarius (Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune) which made great aspects (trines) to her Leo planets of Venus and Mars. So much iconoclastic energy (Sagittarius) giving a positive outlet to her energies (Mars) and her affections (Venus). She was loved by her public and channeled much of her energies into being a very successful songstress and composer.
So what happened? Without her birth time it is hard to see what energies were playing out in what astrological houses in her chart. But here are some thoughts based on aspects. She had many aspects iner horoscope indicating a volitile and energetic personality. Here are some:
Mars conjunct Venus - actions for love produce a firecraker effect.
Sun conjunct Mercury - mission in life can be communicated forcefully and effectively.
Pluto conjunct Saturn - Problems (Saturn) can cause dramatic transformative changes (Pluto). ALso, learning from your mistakes can turn your life around and bring monumental changes.
Jupiter conjunct Uranus - Large scale luck and expansion (Jupier) comes hand in hand with explosive almost uncontrollable change (Uranus).
