Cris Alexander - What is in a Name?

A recent obituary in the New York Times possibly attests to the value of Numerology and especially name related numerology. It is the story of Chris Alexander who was told by a numerologist to drop the "h" in his first name. He did and the rest is history -

He was born Allen Smith in Tulsa on Jan. 14, 1920, but by his teens he was calling himself Christopher, a name he thought befitting of a distinguished actor. Then, as he recalled, he visited a spiritualist, who asked what he most desired. “Success,” he shot back. “Well I can guarantee you success if you do one thing,” he quoted her as saying. “Call yourself ‘Chris’ and take the ‘h’ out.” The next day Cris went to a radio station and got a job as an announcer, even though he stuttered. (He would eventually overcome that speech disorder.)

Money Bags

I admit that I hate chain letters. So you can ignore this one too. But unlike the other ones, this one has no real consequences for not forwarding. In fact, forwarding brings a possible monetary reward (which is always a motivator for me). That is ... if you believe.... And it has everything that I like - feng shui, Chinese prophesy belief, Numerology . I have forwarded it and will let you know if any monetary ka-ching comes into my life.

Money bags

This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So, if you forward this to your friends, money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui. The one who does not forward.....will be without money.

This year we're going to experience four unusual dates. 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 and that's not all... Take the last two digits of the year in which you were born - now add the age you will be this year, The results will be 111 for everyone in whole world. (Actually this works for me...) This is the year of the Money!

The proverb goes that if you send this to eight good friends money will appear in next four days as it is explained in Chinese FENG SHUI.

Onomancy

I have practiced onomancy but I thought it was called one's name number in numerology. Thankfully A Word A Day provides clarification in definition, pronumciation and uses.  

Onomancy     

 PRONUNCIATION: (ON-uh-man-see)

MEANING: noun: Divination by the letters of a name.
ETYMOLOGY: From Greek onoma- (name) + -mancy (divination). Earliest recorded use: 1603.

NOTES: Some parents name their children after careful consideration of onomancy to assure the best possible future for them. Some people alter the spelling of their names or adopt a new name in an effort to bring good fortune. Science fiction writer Isaac Asimov wrote a short story, "Spell My Name with an S", with this theme. The story was inspired by his frustration in having to ask people to spell his name (pronounced AZ-uh-mof) correctly.

Knowing, Movie from 2009

Starring Nicholas Cage, Knowing is another movie in the genre of predicting through numbers the fate of the world. While I won't give the entire plot away, Knowing is a thriller that uses numerlogical theories and puzzles to predict the future.

Here is the short description - A college professor (Nicolas Cage) opens a time capsule that has been dug up at his son s elementary school. In it are some chilling accurate predictions of disasters... when, where, and how many will die. Most of these events must uncover the details of the next disasters in hopes of preventing them. If he fails, who knows how many will die?

The movie is okay. It held some surprises for me and certainly kept my attention, which is hard to do these days. So I give it a 7 out of 10 stars.

Astrology Land

Astrology Land is a new age site that is owned by Matrix Software. Matrix produces some of the best astrology and new age computer software available on the market. The Astrology Land area of their site is full of free readings including a reading of your Life Chakras, Numerology, I-Ching, Runes, Tarot and a Yes / No Oracle. There is also an electric almanac which can give you good times to plant, handle medical matters and even a phace of the moon calendar. It is a very handy one stop place for any pressing questions and issues.

Here is an example of the free Numerology reading using birth information. Is it accurate?  I am not so sure but you should try it for yourself to see if anything resonates.

The path of life or destiny number is derived from the date of your birth. 	Challenge=1 You need to reach out and assert yourself. To be more aggressive and forceful during this time. Not to bend so easily. Not to go along with the crowd. Instead, stand up and be counted. Develop a more original and independent stance.

Second Life Period: Age 30-39
	Pinnacle=4 A time to get off your duff and take care of business. Hard work is indicated and long hours too! We get out of life what we put into it. Now is the time to pay some dues and work out the wrinkles. A strong home life can be developed.
	Challenge=2 Curbing your own interests is in order. Developing an ability to cooperate and respond to others is the main event during this time. Fight off a tendency to be alone, by yourself, or overly self-conscious. Mingle.

Third Life Period: Age 39-48
	Pinnacle=9 Your philanthropic self is to the fore. Community projects and humanitarian concerns will figure high on your list of priorities. You will be called upon to give of yourself in many ways. Don't forget your own family meanwhile.
	Challenge=1 New beginnings or, at least, a reordering of priorities. A need to be independent and self-sufficient will be felt. Learning not to depend upon others -not follow, but lead. This can be a very difficult lesson to learn now.

Fourth Life Period: Age 48-End of Life
	Pinnacle=3 A link, a means for communication. Three is the spark or catalyst that unites opposite points of view. You are the peacemaker or interface here. A happy time full of peace and love is suggested.
	Challenge=1 There is a need to learn to be by yourself and on your own, with less dependence on those around you and in group support. Stand on your own feet.
