I love urban photography - the deevolution of the landscape and the decay and decompostion that brings with it a sense of stoic beauty.
Photographer Kevin Bauman embarked on an ambitious project. He began photographing Detroit's abandoned and deteriorating houses back in the late 1990s. His intention was to create a record of a Detroit past - a time of splendid homes and great architecture. He wanted to preserve these images before all was torn down. Many of these hosues are still standing, thanks to a recession that stopped redevelopment in that city.
