Reader Updates - 7/8/2012 Ziegfeld Theater, Pete Seeger

I received two emails today.

The first was from my tour guide and photographer friend Hans Von Rittern . He knows how much I love my favorite movie palace - the Ziegfeld. I write about it frequently on this blog. This week I saw the new Spiderman movie there to get out of the heat. I wish they didn't kill off Martin Sheen so early in the movie. Hans sent me this distressing link to an article about the Ziegfeld in the New York Post. The Ziegfeld is in danger of closing. New Yorkers, if a movie you want to see is playing at the Ziegfeld, see it there now before it is too late! If you are someone who mostly watches films on your cell phone or computer, get the big screen experience at the Ziegfeld now.

The second note was from someone I don't believe I know but I do believe I received it because she has read my blog and noticed that I have frequently written about Pete Seeger. I also recently wrote about the Bryant Park Carousel, Broadway in Bryant Park and the movies in Bryant Park. I haven't gotten around to mentioning the great lunch I had at the Bryant Park Grill with Charlene Weisler, the friend who encouraged me to start my blog. She writes  the Starryeye Street Art blog

This note I received  highlighted an upcoming Pete Seeger Word for Word event in the Bryant Park reading room. Here are the details:
