A trip to COSTCO - Glaser's and Patsy's

is a very different experience when one doesn't own a car. For A Guide Named Sue, it is a chance to stop into places that could be visited on future tours to other destinations.

I used the time to visit a favorite fourth generation bakery: Glaser's Bake Shop. The recipe for the cinnamon danish was over 100 years old.I wish I could share the wonderful smells in this shop with you.

I also love their fruit pies, black and white cookies and lemon meringue pies.  Stop in when you are in the neighborhood. It is on the NYC Marathon route and the First Avenue bus stops near by.

I left the bus and stopped in at Patsy's Pizzeria for a slice. It is a mere 80 years old but the Pizza is fresh out of the oven.  A group of firemen were leaving as I entered. They were bringing whole pies back to the station for lunch.

Then on to COSTCO's. What can I say.? My discovery this trip was Quinoa Pesto.
