I love auction houses. During viewings before auctions you can see stuff that is usually in private hands. I once thought that auctioning stuffed Trigger was pretty weird but....then I heard about the Dinosaur auction last week at Bonhams. So, my last stop on the way home from MOMA was a visit to the plaza at the IBM building where the Dinos are on display until tomorrow Saturday November 23rd.
How much was that Dino in the window? Well if you have to ask, you can find the sale values here.
Then...I saw the sign for the What Dreams are Made of movie auction curated by TCM.
Viewing continues this weekend. Auction Monday November 25th. Stop in if you are in the neighborhood.
They are even auctioning a car from Casablanca.

you still have the opportunity to check out the ultimate If you have to ask...on steroids farther uptown - the Jewels by JAR exhibit at the Met. It is on until March 9. The guard wouldn't let me take a picture of some "snowflakes" so you'll have to see the exhibit in person.
