London Last stop Ealing
After exploring Clapham in the morning, I headed by tube to Ealing Broadway to visit Canterbury friend Nigel and his wife Pru in Ealing. Another beautiful house and back garden. They also have a plot in a community garden where they grow their own vegetables. We saw a fox while wandering around the neighborhood. Nigel has become quite a cook. The first night we had a whole chicken in a pot dish and the second night we had ostrich meat I believe.
When asked what I wanted to do on our touring day, I said "something you haven't done". My suggestion was (thanks to friends Beverly and Kathleen) Let's go to Buckingham Palace! They loved the idea.
It is quite a tour. We visited 16 rooms and also saw a collection of gifts that had been given to the Queen over the years. When Beverly went, the exhibit was clothing worn by the Queen. We loved it. We exited through the gift shop and had tea with scones and clotted cream and fresh strawberries.
On the way out, I saw London plane trees that were older than the ones in Central Park! If you are heading to London next summer, you can find more info about the Buckingham Palace tour here.
