How many new television programs involve paranormal or talking to or seeing ghosts? Well it seems that there are more and more. The newest entry? NBC's Raines starring Jeff Goldblum as a detective who has a bit of help solving his crimes. Yes, he sees dead people. Usually the victims. And they help him solve the crime du jour. I viewed the 4 minute preview on NBC's website and it looks very LA film noir - nicely cinematic and seemingly well written. And yet there is something tired about having a crime series about talking to dead people who help them solve crimes. At least I think so.
