Second Saturn Return

The Saturn Return occurs every 27-29 years when the planet Saturn orbiting the sky meets the same degree and sign as our birth placement of Saturn in our personal horoscope birth charts. The Saturn Return is a three year period of intense frustration, conflict and yearning. We want change but it either doesn't happen or happens in unexpected possibly undesirable ways. But it is Saturn's way of teaching us a life lesson that we need to know in order to grow and become better.

The first return at age 27-29 is the first return. But lucky folks sometimes get the opportunity to experience three returns in their lifetime: 27-29, 56-59 and 84-87.

I am often asked about the impact of the Second Saturn Return (bless those baby boomers!) and here is what I say: The second return is a repeat of the first. If you have learned your Saturn lesson then this is a time of great reward. If you still have a few things to work on, this is the time to tackle them. Think of what you struggled with at ages 28-30. That will give you a clue as to what to expect.

Salt Crystal Lamps

I just bought a Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamp which, when heated, becomes a natural negative ion generator. Negative ions clean the air of dust, pollen, dust mites, animal dander and mold spores.

These lights work by supposedly lower the electric fields radiated by appliances such as computers and televisions. Increased electricity in one's living space results in lack of concentration and insomnia so I think that these lamps might help me sleep better. They say that in Europe and Russia ionization of the air in hospitals and work places has become mandatory and helps people with respiratory problems, chronic fatigue, allergies, sleep disorders, migraine headaches, asthma and depression.

Even if none of this is true (and I'm not saying it is untrue but it is difficult to measure), these lamps are very beautiful and look very neat in a den or living room:

Here is the website for these lamps.

Word of the Day - Arithmancy

Another great word (and predictive technique) from Word Of The Day

arithmancy (AR-ith-man-see) noun

   Divination by numbers.

[From Greek arithmos (number) + -mancy (divination).]

Arithmancy is also known as arithmomancy and numerology. It is one of the
subjects taught at Hogwarts School where Harry Potter studies the art of
wizardry. You don't need to go to Hogwarts to know the numbers related to
your name and to find out what they reveal. Try it at:

-Anu Garg (garg AT wordsmith.org)

"Jim practices his techno-arithmancy and works his magic on Simon. Like
a hungry fish, Simon takes the lure of obscene riches and drags others
   along with him."

Kabbalah Energy Drink

What do you get when you combine the study of Jewish Mysticism with an energy drink? I guess you would get something along the lines of Kabbalah Energy Drink.

The Kabbalah is an aspect of Jewish mysticism exploring the nature of divinity, the creation, the origin and fate of the soul, and the role of human beings. It involves meditative, devotional, mystical and magical practices which were historically taught only to a select few and for this reason Kabbalah is regarded as an esoteric offshoot of Judaism. Some aspects of Kabbalah have been studied and used by non-Jews for several hundred years. A recent example is Madonna who is actually rumored to have dropped the study of it.

The Kabbalah Energy drink claims to be a source of positive power, along the lines of the Kabbalah itself. Lots of press has followed including a mentioned on MTV. Has anyone out there in the blogosphere ever tried it?

What's Your Karma

Oh this is just too good - there is a new internet program called What's Your Karma which is the latest addition to the new age themed programs available on various entertainment platforms. Basically it is billed as the first Psychic Internet Series of Its Kind (err whatever that means ...) hosted by clairvoyant, Lilith Dove.

According to Media Bistro, "the show is original and unscripted with audience participation that is based on everyday people with everyday problems - why do they do the things they do and how can they fix it. This is the next step in the paranormal trend."

All I can say is, where do I sign up?! The first episode is called "Gluttonous Flirt"!
