Reusable Zodiac Tote, Eco-Friendly Shopping Bag

Zodiactote I have written about the Intoxicated Zodiac Site before. It is one of my favorite sites. And now here is something they offer that I especially like.

This is their Plastic is Not a Celestial Body Tote, an oversized 17" x17" limited edition reusable shopping bag made in Nepal of 100% organic durable jute. Everyone knows that reusable totes are so much better for the environment than plastic or paper bags. And if an improved environment isn't enough motivation consider this. Each purchase helps some of the 300,000 Nepali women who have been kidnapped or sold into prostitution rebuild their lives.

They have one for each zodiac sign but currently Capricorn is the only one shipping, the others are available for pre-order. The tote is $49 -- buy two: one for you and one for an eco-minded friend.

Red Carpet Fashion by Astrology

The stars shone last night at the Oscars and some of the beautiful (and/or outrageous) dresses worn by the glitterati have been analyzed astrologically here.

Oscar_gown In fact astrology can play a part in how we decide to dress. If you have a Sagittarian influence in your chart you may go for more informal clothes such as turtlenecks and jeans. Cancers may choose more conservative, homey dresses. Libras might wear something more glamourous. Here is a snapshot of fashion by the signs:

Aries (March 21- April 20) - Think bold, red, powerful looking clothing, power suits, footwear ranging from spikes to boots.

Taurus (April 21-May 20) - They are more conservative, practical, cozy, warm clothes in earth tone shades.

Gemini May 21-June 20) - Think green, fun, flirty fasions. Something outrageous and something that folks will talk about.

Cancer (June 21-July 20) - They like prim, proper, conservative yet frilly clothes. Shades of blues or pinks work well.

Leo (July 21-Aug 20) - They love dramatic, bold and brash colors and prints, something to make a fashion (and other) statement.

Virgo (Aug 21-Sep 20) - Think librarian with some fancy undergarments underneath. They like to look straight laced but they are still earth signs!

Libra (Sep 21-Oct 20) - Fashionistas with a great style sense. Think accessories, bright colors, plunging necklines and high hems.

Scorpio (Oct 21- Nov 20) - They like to be more mysterious with dark colors - black especially - and have a sense of sexy power.

Sagittarius (Nov 21-Dec 20) - They prefer the informal, basic comfortable stuff, keep it simple, loose and lived-in.

Capricorn (Dec 21-Jan 20) - They dress for success, business suits, prestige and power, brand names.

Aquarius (Jan 21-Feb 19) - They are unorthodox and prefer utilitarian with lots of pockets, different colors and patterns, something that stands out.

Pisces (Feb 20-Mar 20) - Expect scarves, jewelry, loose fitting new age type of clothing with flowery patterns and a romantic air.

Hillary Clinton's Horoscope

Hillary As the presidential nomination race continues, let's look at Hillary Clinton's birthchart to see if there is any clue about her chances for the nomination. Using Neptune Cafe chart data, she was born on October 26, 1947 at 8am in Chicago, Illinois.

The first thing that I notice about her chart is that she has a great deal of Scorpio energy: Her Sun (basic personality), Venus (how she expresses her love) and Mercury (her communication) are all in that sign. And she has Scorpio rising which accentuates the Scorpio feeling of her personality. This woman is a mystery. She feels deeply (Moon in Pisces) but might not let you know how deeply she is moved. While she might be considered secretive, this might also play out as strategic and intuitive. The highest planet in her chart is Saturn which indicates struggles to achieve but she is able to overcome her troubles with a grace and magnanimity.

Her Sun has a good aspect to Uranus which means that she can harness dramatic change to her advantage but her love life (Venus) may create problems, dramatic change and action (square Saturn, Pluto, Mars). But she can think and communicate (Mercury)  in an emotionally compelling way (trine Moon). She must make her own luck (Jupiter square Midheaven) so her road to success will not be easy.

Hers is not the easy way. With all that Scorpio in her chart she gets ahead by her wits and ability. While she may appear distant, she has high ideals and will find a way to succeed against all odds. I would not count her out of this race just yet but I do think she has a greater struggle ahead to win hearts and minds.

Can she pull it off? Stay tuned....

Barack Obama's Horoscope - An Update

This is an update to a previous post. I have since learned that Barack Obama's actual birth time is 7:24pm and not 1:06pm. This makes a difference in some of the analysis. Everything in italics is new or revised:

Obama_5 Barack Obama has emerged as a frontrunner in the Democratic presidential nomination race and this should be no surprise to anyone who has seen his birth horoscope.

Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His birth time is hard to find. I first used 1:06pm as reported by Neptune Cafe but have since been informed that his birth certificate is on his site as 7:24pm. Here is a very topline look at his chart:

With his brilliant Leo sun, he is charming, generous, charismatic and focused on getting ahead of the competition. He basks in admiration and love to be in the center of the action. But there is more: he has his moon (how he expresses his emotions) in Gemini which makes him smart, quick, witty, and has the ability to connect to others emotionally through his speech and ideas. His Venus (planet of love) is in Cancer which enables him to reach people on a very emotional and personal level. He is lovable. Mars (planet of action and energy) is in Virgo which makes him meticulous, detailed oriented and very practical. His is a powerful combination of good placements for his personal planets. But there is more.

His chart is filled with aspects (angles in the chart) that give the chart excellent energies. First I noticed the Trine between Mars (energy) and Saturn (lessons, problems and wisdom). This means that he is able to harness his energy to reach any success and he can also learn from his mistakes. He can overcome hardship and make use of his past struggles and learn from them.

More good news:

Neptune trines Venus sextiles Pluto – Intuitive sense of what makes people happy, knows how to best reach the masses and achieve transformative results. Very charismatic!

Moon sextile Mercury trine Jupiter – a charming and eloquent speaker. A good communicator who can effect great change through words.

Mars trine Saturn – Actions achieve an excellent result.

Vertex sextile Neptune - Intuition can be used to create the best actions for the best results.

Venus sextile Pluto sextile North Node - His innate charm will lead to success and great transformation.

Venus trine Neptune - He knows what will make people happy. Has an excellent intuition in that area.

Saturn and Jupiter sextile Midheaven -  Lots of excellent energy runs through his chart and impacts his public persona. Hard work and luck will bring great success.

Mercury trine MidHeaven - A great communicator whose words will impact many people.

What does he have to be careful of? He has:

Neptune square Jupiter – dreams can become unwieldy and out of control. Rein in and be more practical.

Saturn conjunct Jupiter – Be careful in risk taking. The bigger the risk the bigger the fallout. Mercury opposite Jupiter and Saturn – Watch what you say and how you say it. Idle words can create havoc.

Uranus square Moon – Emotions can get out of hand. Must learn to control emotions or emotions will control you.

Pluto and Vertex square Moon – Massive uncontrollable change can occur based on emotions. It might upset plans.

North Node square MidHeaven - Success can be derailed.

Pluto conjunct Vertex - Immense power that may become uncontrollable

Uranus square MidHeaven - Surprises and shocks that can impact his public persona or career progression.

How does his chart compared to Hillary Clinton’s? Stay tuned….
