Poltergeist Spirit Talker Actress Zelda Rubinstein

Actress Zelda Rubinstein, who played spirit talker Tangina in Steven Spielberg's cult 1982 film 'Poltergeist,' has passed away.  I will never forget her performance which made the movie exciting and the concept of connecting to poltergeists tangible and real.

According to Wikipedia, Poltergeists are from German poltern, meaning to make noise, and Geist, meaning "ghost" or "spirit". They are ostensibly paranormal phenomenon attributed to an invisible spirit or ghost that manifests itself by moving and influencing objects, generally in a particular location such as a house or room or place within a house.

Poltergeists have been reported in many cultures, including India (where they are known as a Mumai), the United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Brazil.

While wikipedia says "Like the existence of ghosts in general, there is no credible scientific evidence for the existence of poltergeists" I beg to differ. There are many organizations committed to following and proving the existence of ghosts and paranormal spirits.

Lucky Numbers for the Week of January 29, 2010

Lottery ads tell us you only need a dollar and a dream. But I think it is also helpful to have a list of lucky numbers to help spur the good fortune ... or fortunes.

So with that in mind, I decided that we could use some lucky numbers that can be used in any helpful way. I gazed into a pool of water, Nostradamus-like, and contemplated the cosmos. Then I mixed the tarot cards and allowed the spirits to guide me to the cards that represent the lucky numbers for this week. Nothing is guaranteed but who knows ....?

I choose eight numbers because 8 is the number of wealth.

Open Center Interview in Crains New York Business

So I guess spirituality and holistic living is a good business. Crains New York Business which is a business magazine just interviewed the president of the Open Center, Walter Beebe. Mr Beebe was a corporate giant and gave ita ll up to run the Open Center which is a wonderful organization dedicated to all aspects of holistic living. I received a certificate in aromatherapy there and have taken many courses in astrology, herbal medicine and philosophy there.

I think what landed Mr Beebe on the pages of Crains is the fact that while the Open Center owned its building in an industrial area of Soho in NYC's Manhattan, they recently sold their building and are renting a bigger space uptown in the 30s where they now have a ten year lease. Ten years goes by very fast and it gives the real estate market time to rebound. With Virgo on the cusp of my second house of money, I would rather own than rent, especially when the building is owned free and clear of debt. I hope that the Open Center is around for many many years.
