Deep Mercury: Hermes and the Quickening of Destinies
Sunday 13th October 2019 - 15.30-18.00 BST
Descents, retrievals, crossings, encounters – the mythology of Mercury is profoundly psychological. Yet astrology often forgets Mercury’s depth, despite his mastery of what the ancients called Kairos: the ‘just right’ moment where old threads of lives unravel and new ones enter the loom. A soul-quickener, when Mercury arrives on the scene, in myth and in our charts, stuck places unstick, silenced parts start speaking, lost items return. Mercury loosens us up, slips past defenses, opens roads to uncharted psychic territory.
In this webinar, through stories drawn from ancient myth and modern psychotherapy, we’ll explore the surprisingly profound effects Mercury subtly facilitates natally and through visitations by transit, progression, and synastry. As well, we will explore the special twilight consciousness held by Mercury as a follower of the sects of both Night and Day, and how we astrologers – held by the ancients as sons and daughters of Mercury – may make use of the Mercurial mode of consciousness to bridge the psychologies of Night and Day, inviting Eros whilst embracing Necessity.

Planets in Blue: The Uses of Melancholy
Sunday 3rd November 2019 - 15.30-18.00 GMT
Every so often our experience of a planet goes ‘off,’ as if a light has been dimmed and we see life through a blue filter. Venus gets the blues when a relationship dies, the Moon when it loses its familiar comforts. These times take us inward into night consciousness, and often bring an inclination to moodiness and gloom. The party girl loses her fizz, the wild boy loses his smile. If this kind of inner work has not been done before, Saturn transits can make it more pressing, especially now as Saturn comes into close contact with Pluto. While it may not be comfortable at first, the melancholy position has long been considered the via regia for soul making in archetypal psychology. As astrologers, the ability to walk our clients through the timing of a ‘blue period’ can be a great gift.

Archetypal Polarities 1: Aries - Libra
Sunday 10th November 2019 - 15.30-18.00 GMT
The zodiac contain 6 natural polarities. These polarities depict archetypal configurations between two signs which symbolize two patterns of consciousness. Each sign contains its own energy as well as the energy of its opposite, and learning to see in terms of polarity helps with understanding both the shadows and potential gifts of each sign.
Session I: Aries-Libra
Essential themes in the Aries-Libra dance: I and Thou consciousness; separateness and togetherness; the sword of discrimination and the fine blade of value; reflection and mirroring.
(This webinar is the 1st in a series of 6 which will explore C.G. Jung’s idea of the tension of opposites and James Hillman’s idea of the union of sames in order to explore the polarity dynamic of each zodiac pair and their psychological meaning. Each session will focus on the mythology and psychology of a sign along with its polarity partner so to explore the archetypal themes and psychology of each pair. Parts 2-6 will follow over the next few terms)

Saturn and the Outer Planets - Encountering Larger Realities
Sunday 17th November 2019 - 15.30-18.00 GMT
One of Saturn's essential archetypal roles in our lives (and in our charts) is to set limits. Traditional astrology tells us that Saturn rules over prisons. When imposed on us from the outside world, limits can often feel confining and oppressive - like a prison. Paradoxically, limits can feel liberating - like knowing when enough is enough, saying "no," setting a boundary. Navigating between inner and outer realities via Saturn becomes increasingly challenging (and increasingly important) when Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto engage with Saturn. Limits and boundaries mingle and merge with larger realities like revolution and eternity. New possibilities and potentials emerge. This webinar explores the rather complex relationship between Saturn and the outer planets, individually and collectively.

Earth: Our Home
Sunday 8th December 2019 - 15.30-18.00 GMT
Nearly 50 years ago we saw our home planet from space for the first time and this has powerfully influenced our collective perceptions about the Earth. In the last few years we have become aware that this Earth is more fragile and vulnerable that we ever imagined it to be. And yet our astrological element Earth has always been associated with stability and practicality. We want to be ‘grounded;’ and we like people ‘down to earth.’ Uranus has now gone into Taurus, perhaps awakening us to new perceptions of this element. In this webinar we shall explore the astrological Earth through signs, planets and houses.
