Cute and Adorable Pet and Animal Photos
Here's My Gripe: Too Many Cute and Oh-So-Adorable Animal Photos!
It's not that I don't enjoy adorable pet and cute animal photos, I do. But frankly, there are so many sites devoted to nothing but -- adorable pet and cute animal photos -- that I really feel like gagging when I encounter yet another one. There are some very, very popular sites that fit this mold: I Can Has Cheezburger and Cute Overload to name two. But really, can I be the only one that thinks some sites offer just too, too much cuteness -- too, too much same-old, same-old thing? How tiresome!
Okay, I've said it and now I feel better. Now I'm ready to move on. I would like to mention two sites that I like and that offer plenty of pet and animal photos but with an unusual twist. Cute with Chris offers Blender Pets. Each photo features an animal that "blends into" the background. You might see a fluffy white poodle curled up on a white sheepskin throw, or a black and white cat lying on a black and white tiled floor. Yes, they are cute -- but I would say "cute with a twist."
Another photo site that I am fond of is DogBlog. Here, in Jon's words:
I love his original idea and the captions that he writes for each photo. At his site you'll find dogs tied to trees, chairs, parking meters, staircases, bike racks -- you get the idea. One photo shows a dog tied to a lamp post and the caption says: "When you forget your ID, but your other pals have already gotten into the club and one of them has your car keys, you've got basically no choice but to make the best of it and try to create your own fun."
I invite you to take a look at these sites then tell me: have you been overloaded with cute? Or do you say "I can't get enough cute and adorable, bring it on." Do you know of any sites that feature photos "with a twist"? If so, please share them here.
I completely agree with you that there are too many cutesy pics of people with their dogs.

What I really hate is the ones that look like cruelty may be involved in order to get a "cute" dog picture, people can really go overboard and take away all of a dog's dignity!

I am soooo glad to hear from both of you. Sometimes I feel like a "grouch" with this complaint. I know that my kitty would not be amused if I tried dressing and/or posing her. But based on the popularity of cute photo sites, I am thinking we may be in the minority opinion.
