Today Show Feature: Nora, The Piano Playing Cat and Author
Nora's fame and popularity continues to grow -- and she must have a great press agent. Nora was recently profiled at USA Today, Play it again, Nora: Piano-pawing cat loves the attention, and she was a featured guest performer on this morning's NBC Today Show.
Like all great artists, Nora is temperamental and only likes to perform in her own studio. Her fame has grown via her YouTube video performances. She doesn't give many live concerts like this morning's offering. Cat owners know how difficult it is to get a cat to do anything on cue (other than nap maybe). This morning Nora played only a few notes, she seemed more content in staring at her reflection in the piano. If you missed the Today Show concert you can go to Raven's Wing Studio and see all of Nora's piano playing YouTube videos. My favorite is CATcerto.
Not content with just being a musician, Nora is also an author of two books. Her books are My Story: A Picture Book and Nora The Piano Cat's Guide To Becoming A Good Musician: Or How To Get Good At Anything Hard.
Her owners, Betsy Alexander and Burnell Yow of Philadelphia, rescued her from a shelter. Like most people who adopt a pet, I'd say they got lots more than they bargained for. And we're all lucky that this delightful feline has been shared with all of us.
