Skulls, Death and “Memento Mori” on the Street Art Scene
Editorz, 2015-05-20 04:02

Oh death, the world simply brims with it. Naturally so do the streets. We’ve been able to cheat it, cavort and dance with it, even bargain with it but so far we have been unable to win the fight. Everyone succumbs. “Remember you shall die”, or Memento mori, is the medieval Latin theory that we […]

Editorz, 2015-05-19 04:02

Street Artist and installation artist Hot Tea is back in New York and getting ready for summer by blending his color palette into concrete rather than suspending it strand-by-strand in the air. External Combustion: How & Nosm with Tristan Eaton in BK
Editorz, 2015-05-11 04:02

Today we celebrate Mother’s Day in the USA and Mexico and about 70 other countries. Cheers and thank you to all the mothers of the world. We Love Paris In The Spring Time! New Shots of Street Art.
Editorz, 2015-05-07 04:02

When Cole Porter wrote “I love Paris in the Springtime!” in 1953 he probably was thinking of showgirls and their suitors and the wickedness of the Montmartre dance halls in the 1890s, but when photographer Sandra Hoj was in Paris last week she was thinking of aerosol paintings and paste-ups, and her enthusiasm was equal […]

Barcelona Dispatch : A Street Art Survey From a Fan
Editorz, 2015-05-06 04:02

By his own account Lluís Olivé has been shooting images in the city of Barcelona for about 50 years; street scenes, demonstrations, parades, architectural details, tiles, iron work, doors, doorknobs, windows, and of course, graffiti and Street Art. Calling himself an amateur, Señor Olivé nonetheless has captured a lot of Barcelona’s changing Street Art scene […]

Ron English and the “American Temper Tot” Pop Out In New York City
Editorz, 2015-04-29 04:02

All American Temper Tot is the name of the new installation by Street Artist Ron English on the Houston Bowery Wall in Manhattan, and the US flag-based design may be comforting to the average patriotic New Yorker until you realize he is offering a not-so-subtle critique of mindless consumerism that indicts probably everyone who passes […]

Rain-Activated Graffiti

RainworksWhat will they think of next? According to PSFK, wenow have Rain-Activated Graffiti.

A Rainwork is a special piece of street art that will only appear, you guessed it, when it rains. Using Always Dry, a powerful spray-on hydrophobic coating, Peregrine Church and his partners stencil positive messages that only show-up to alleviate the grief of rain-bereaved Seattleites.

Messages like “I <3 Rain” or “Stay dry out there” are bound to put smiles on even the most bitter faces.

Church makes a point to note that the hydrophobic substance he uses is biodegradable, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic. And since it takes approximately three to four months to wear off, these non-commercial pieces are temporary and therefore make the practice perfectly legal in Seattle.

Opiemme continues on the search for suitable locations for his Vortexes – a circular shape that contains text and words and poetic dispatches. Cash For Your Warhol (CFYW) Says “No Questions Asked” in Philadelphia
Editorz, 2015-04-09 04:02

“No Questions Asked” says Hargo of this slyly-named collection of Cash For Your Warhol pieces opening this week at a small gallery in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood. But you may want to ask a few questions of your own. The large CFYW billboard outside Penn Station in Philadelphia is more than an appeal, and less. Cash […]

ROA (photo © Jaime Rojo) By his own account ROA favors the hard to cover pockmarked and scarred […]

Editorz, 2015-04-02 04:02

The response to our pieces on BSA and Huffpost yesterday has been sort of overwhelming – with people writing to us and commenting and sharing the article in large numbers on social media. Last nights pre-opening party at the museum was also enthusiastic, and although we don’t do the name-dropping thing much, we were gobsmacked […]

Basquiat’s Notebooks Open at The Brooklyn Museum
Editorz, 2015-04-01 04:02

As lines continue to blur in fields of art and technology (and everything else) it is easier to see Street Art as an online/on-street diary, a forum for speech making, a laboratory for testing ideas, a publishing platform for the dispersing of truths and lies and theories and maxims and slogans and aphorisms. A timely […]

Editorz, 2015-03-30 04:02
